VTE -  Vision Test Engineer

Role Overview

A Vision Test Engineer is responsible for validating camera‑ and vision‑based systems to ensure functional correctness, performance, reliability, and compliance with automotive standards across development and production phases.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute test plans, test cases, and validation strategies for vision systems
  • Test camera modules, image pipelines, and vision algorithms
  • Validate image quality parameters such as focus, exposure, color accuracy, distortion, latency, and frame rate
  • Perform functional, environmental, robustness, and regression testing
  • Analyze and debug issues related to hardware, firmware, and vision algorithms
  • Support DV/PV testing and mass‑production readiness
  • Interface with system, software, algorithm, and hardware teams
  • Document test results, defects, and verification reports
  • Ensure compliance with OEM and automotive standards

A Vision Test Engineer ensures that camera and vision-based systems meet all quality, performance, and functional requirements — across both development and mass production environments. The role spans optics, software, image processing, automation, and manufacturing validation.

The engineer drives the timely industrialization of vision test equipment by maintaining continuous alignment with project milestones. This function is primarily responsible for securing technical compliance of test systems by leading all required testing and release activities. Cross-functional collaboration and knowledge transfer across global teams are central to accelerating time-to-market, maintaining quality standards, and achieving cost competitiveness.

    Preferred Experience

    • Automotive vision systems (ADAS cameras, surround view, driver monitoring)
    • Knowledge of OpenCV, Python, or vision test automation
    • Exposure to ISO 26262, ASPICE, or automotive validation processes

    Primary Focus

Ensure vision system performance, quality, and reliability from development to mass production
