Data and Cloud Architect (m/f/d)

We're building 1ADP - the One AUMOVIO Data Platform: a self-service, enterprise-grade cloud data platform that transforms raw data from across the organization into trusted, reusable data products. Built with Databricks and AWS, 1ADP serves data engineers, data scientists, analysts, and business users across AUMOVIO's domains - from Production and Supply Chain to Finance and beyond.

As a Data and Cloud Architect, you will be a key technical authority within the A IT DCA DP platform team. You will shape the architecture of 1ADP, drive technical decisions - and ensure the platform scales securely to meet growing enterprise demand. You'll work across cloud infrastructure, data engineering patterns, governance frameworks, and developer-facing self-service tooling.

What You'll Work On:

• Platform Architecture — Design and evolve 1ADP across Databricks workspaces, Unity Catalog, and AWS infrastructure. Define Medallion architecture (Bronze → Silver → Gold) standards and lead design of new capabilities such as the Data Marketplace, Data Product Framework, and AI/ML infrastructure.
• Cloud Infrastructure & GitOps — Own AWS CDK deployment stacks and guide the Terragrunt / Terraform provisioning model.
• Data Governance & Security — Architect federated governance with centralized compliance rules. Design security and access control patterns.
• Data Mesh & Data Products — Translate the Data Mesh vision into platform capabilities. Support domain teams in building and publishing data products.
• Integrations & AI/ML — Design and Shape AI/ML infrastructure including AI Agents (AgentBricks), MLFlow, AI Gateway, and LLM-powered features.

Developer Enablement — Define architectural standards and reusable templates, mentor engineers, and keep platform documentation accurate and accessible

Cloud & AWS

Hands-on experience with core AWS services (S3, IAM, networking, DNS, certificate management). You understand cloud security basics and have applied IAM best practices in at least one project.

Infrastructure as Code

Practical experience with Terraform or a comparable IaC tool. You can read, write, and modify infrastructure definitions independently and know your way around a CI/CD pipeline.

Data Engineering

Solid understanding of Lakehouse patterns (Bronze / Silver / Gold) and data pipeline concepts. You've built or maintained at least one end-to-end data flow on a modern platform (Databricks, Synapse, BigQuery, or similar).

Programming & Scripting

Proficient in Python and SQL for automation, data tasks, and tooling. Comfortable picking up new languages or frameworks when needed.

DevOps Mindset

Familiarity with GitOps workflows, CI/CD pipelines, and version-controlled infrastructure. You automate repetitive tasks and care about developer experience.

Security & Networking

Practical understanding of cloud networking (VPCs, subnets, DNS, TLS/certificate management) and IAM. You've implemented or contributed to security controls in a cloud environment.

Platform Operations

Experience contributing to the operational stability of a live platform — monitoring, incident response, or on-call participation. You take ownership of what you ship.

Cross-Team Collaboration

Comfortable advising business units or development teams on cloud and data architecture topics. You can bridge the gap between technical requirements and stakeholder needs.

Communication

Able to explain technical concepts clearly to both engineers and non-technical stakeholders. You document your work and actively share knowledge with the team.

Nice-to-Have

• Experience with Databricks — workspaces, compute, Unity Catalog, or Delta Lake.
• Exposure to security-by-design practices, compliance controls, or working with Cyber Security teams.
• Familiarity with AI/ML tooling — MLflow, model registries, LLM APIs, or similar.
• Interest in evaluating and prototyping emerging technologies (Big Data, AI, Cloud).
• Experience with platform observability — monitoring, incident response, or on-call participation.
• Interest in mentoring junior engineers and improving onboarding, documentation, or internal tooling.
