Tax Analyst (Mid-level)

Your tasks

The Mid-Level Tax Analyst is responsible for ensuring the company’s tax compliance by calculating indirect taxes (ICMS, IPI, PIS, COFINS) and preparing ancillary obligations, interpreting current tax legislation, and supporting Tax Reform. This role operates with autonomy in resolving issues and seeks improvements in tax processes.

Main Responsibilities and Activities

  • Tax Calculation: Calculate indirect taxes (ICMS, IPI, PIS, and COFINS), including ICMS-ST, DIFAL, and withholding taxes.
  • Ancillary Obligations: Generate, review, and submit federal and state obligations, with focus on EFD ICMS/IPI (SPED Fiscal), EFD Contributions, GIA, and GIA-ST.
  • Accounting Reconciliation: Reconcile tax-related accounting accounts, validating calculated balances with accounting closing.
  • Legislation Monitoring: Analyze changes in tax legislation (Federal and State of São Paulo) and apply their impacts to internal processes.
  • Audit and Support: Support internal and external audits, respond to tax inspections, and handle tax notices.
  • Process Improvement: Propose improvements to tax activities to increase efficiency and reduce tax risks.
  • Tax Reform: Monitor and implement changes related to the Brazilian Tax Reform.

Your profile

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or Law.
  • Experience: Previous experience in tax operations focused on indirect taxes (ICMS/IPI/PIS/COFINS).
  • Technical Knowledge:
    • Advanced knowledge of ICMS/IPI and PIS/COFINS legislation.
    • Advanced Excel skills.
    • Experience with SAP ERP.
    • Experience with Guepardo Tax Solution.
  • Skills: Analytical thinking, attention to detail, strong communication skills, and organization to meet deadlines.

Differential Qualifications

  • Postgraduate degree in Tax Management or related fields.
  • Experience with SAP (FI/SD module).
