Specialist/ Lead - Molding Technology

Your tasks

Industrialization & New Project Introduction

  • Lead industrialization activities from concept through mass production.
  • Coordinate APQP, safe launch, and plant-level ramp-up activities.
  • Ensure smooth project handover to production with all documentation complete.

Molding Machines, Tooling & Equipment Development

  • Manage procurement, installation, and qualification of molding machines and molds.
  • Oversee tool release, validation, and supplier coordination.
  • Drive localization and integration of new technologies.

Process Engineering & Change Management

  • Develop, optimize, and maintain molding processes for quality and efficiency.
  • Implement engineering changes and deploy global lessons learned.
  • Support process integration for new technologies and automation.

Productivity, Cost Optimization & Lean Manufacturing

  • Drive ≥5% annual productivity improvement through Lean and automation.
  • Reduce NCC, scrap, cycle time, and energy consumption.
  • Achieve cost targets, spending plans, and project profitability goals.

Equipment Specification, Technology Advancement & Supplier Management

  • Define technical specifications for machines and special equipment.
  • Lead design, build, and launch of new equipment and tools.
  • Work with global teams and suppliers on technology upgrades and improvements.

Maintenance & Reliability Management

  • Establish preventive maintenance and repair plans for molding equipment.
  • Ensure availability of critical spares and documentation.
  • Build maintenance team capability for handling new machines/technologies.

Quality, Safety & Compliance

  • Support problem-solving, change management, and customer communication.
  • Implement safety norms, energy-saving initiatives, and scrap systems.
  • Ensure EHS compliance and participate actively as an ERT member.

Training & People Development

  • Build competency in molding, tooling, and process engineering teams.
  • Train operators and technicians on new equipment and best practices.
  • Strengthen internal capability in process and tool development.

Your profile

  • B.Tech in Mechanical or Plastics Technology with 8–10 years of experience in molding, industrial engineering, and manufacturing.
  • Strong product and process knowledge including overmolding, molding parameters, and plastics behaviour. Knowledge of mold mechanics, tooling development, tool validation, and mold qualification.
  • Hands-on experience in industrialization of projects, managing >3 new projects and >5 molds per year. Capable of equipment development, equipment validation, and addressing machine/process-related problems.
  • Experience working with global teams, global molding communities, and international equipment suppliers.
