Job Summary – Production Planning Specialist

The role is responsible for planning, scheduling, and steering production to ensure smooth workflow, optimum resource utilization, and timely delivery of orders. It involves creating feasible production plans, managing semi-finished (WIP) and raw material stock levels, monitoring output, and ensuring material availability. The specialist coordinates closely with logistics, material planning, shop floor, and controlling teams while leveraging SAP R/3 PP and SAP APO/PSS systems. The position also requires supporting standards/policies, analyzing performance, handling engineering changes, and ensuring compliance with SCM regulations.

Core Responsibilities

  • Develop and balance production requirements and resources.
  • Create & release production schedules (push/pull systems: APO, Kanban, Heijunka).
  • Monitor production output and manage performance reports.
  • Ensure material availability and maintain WIP/stock levels.
  • Interface with MES, SAP systems, and SCM processes.
  • Support in managing production standards, guidelines, and change requests.

Competencies & Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of production planning, SCM standards, and processes.
  • SAP R/3 PP & SAP APO/PSS expertise.
  • Experience in reporting, project management, and controlling.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Production/SCM/Logistics.
  • 2+ years of professional experience, preferably with project/interface exposure.
