PBI DevOps Engineer

Platform Ownership & Operations

• You will take end‑to‑end responsibility for developing, operating, and maintaining the AUMOVIO Power BI service. This includes managing the infrastructure, backend, and frontend components, as well as providing user support and contributing to selected projects within the global AUMOVIO environment
• • The AUMOVIO Power BI service provides worldwide data visualization and analytics capabilities. In this role, you will collaborate with cross‑functional teams and subject‑matter experts from both business and IT across the entire AUMOVIO organization
• In the Power BI infrastructure team, you will manage the Power BI service within the Azure tenant, workspaces and capacities and their integrations in the global IT landscape
• The technical area of responsibility includes the whole Power BI infrastructure, from Capacities, Workspaces and their objects, Gateways and their operating systems, monitoring system design and improvements

Monitoring & Performance Optimization

• Continuously monitor the Power BI Azure capacities, to identify “not well” performing Azure pipelines or reports with the resulting duty to technically optimize those. In detail also identify and re-develop “not well” performing data computations in Power BI in front loading data-systems like Databricks (SQL)

Support, Troubleshooting & Customer Interaction

• Your daily life and tasks will be assigned via our ticket system, out of customer requests or monitoring tickets. This results in troubleshooting and sustainable bug-fixing. Beyond tickets, you will also consult service customers to solve issues and recommend improvements.

Continuous Improvement & Innovation

• This includes identifying, designing and implementing new methods/tools to continuously improve the whole supported ecosystem

Governance, Security & Compliance

• Responsible for the development of new use-cases ensuring Cybersecurity and Data Governance standards

Collaboration & Coordination

• Coordination of internal / external resources to support the above tasks.
• Cross functional cooperation with all IT Functions (Cybersecurity, IT Infrastructure Network, ...) to support the above tasks

Technical Expertise

• Master’s degree in computer science, applied mathematics, machine learning or similar
• Minimum 6 years of proven experience in supporting or managing Power BI Infrastructure- gateways, workspaces, capacities, etc.
• Expert level practical expertise of

• Strong Experience of Power BI tenants and security groups management

• Deep solid knowledge and practical experience of several years in Data management, reporting and Business Intelligence especially in Azure Data Architecture
• Deep solid knowledge and practical experience of several years in operating multi-cloud (Azure, AWS, etc.) environment and their dependencies

Certifications

• Microsoft Certifications like
  • Power BI Data Analyst,
  • Azure Fundamentals and
  • Power BI Fabric Data engineers

are required

Language Requirements

• Mandatory, German as a native speaker and fluent English (both verbal and written)

Programming Skills

• Preferred several years of experience as Data Engineer and/or DevOps
• Expert in analyzing requirements and processes to design solutions based on them
• Programming Languages (SQL (Expert), DAX(Expert), Python, Power Shell)
• Practical knowledge on various Power BI Gateways, types of data sources, connections etc.
• Knowledge of data warehouse concepts and solutions (like Databricks, ETL pipelines, Redshift, Lake House etc.)

Soft Skills

• Strong Ability to express complex concepts in a comprehensible language for Power BI users
• Very good communication, comprehensive & consultancy skills
• Analytical, structured and conceptually strong working methodology
