Supplier Quality Management Engineer - OPD

Your tasks

  • Centralized sourcing, qualification, introduction and release of optical device components and modules according Product Life Cycle (PLC) and APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning) incl. handover to the plant with focus on suppliers, development locations and plants of Business Unit ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems)
  • Plan, initiate and control failure prevention orientated, advanced quality management measures in the design/development phase for supplied parts and services (maturity evaluation, supplier / component review and selection, feasibility commitment, project reviews, run & rate, safe launch concept, quality control plan, VDA 6.3 audit) to ensure that our products meet the defined quality requirements
  • Plan, initiate, implement and control the appropriate supplier quality assurance measures along the complete process chain in the make/market phase for all supplied goods and services, in his area of responsibility, to continuously observe and improve the quality performance of the supplier with focus on a zero-failure-strategy
  • Implement and control of quality improvement and Development programs of suppliers
  • Prepare and execute visits and management meetings with suppliers
  • Troubleshooting for supplier problems and support of SQM plants for escalation (e. g. red alerts)

Your profile

  • University degree in the field of Engineering, Physics, Optics or a comparable education
  • Detailed knowledge about APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning)
  • Experience in project management and auditing in accordance with VDA 6.3 and IATF 16949
  • Experience with quality tools (e. g. 8D, Ishikawa, SPC)
  • Knowledge of SAP and statistical tools, e. g. Minitab
  • Confident handling with the MS office programs
  • Very good English language skills written and spoken
  • Willingness to take responsibility and make decisions, analytical and result-oriented work
  • Confident and convincing way of acting, team-oriented action and high international travel
  • Willingness to travel: about 25% and high intercultural skills
